Malawi's main airport, Lilongwe Kamuzu International is about 13 miles from Malawi's capital city, Lilongwe and is 11614 feet long, being a single strip runway. Amongst the airlines running a service at the airport are Air Malawi, Air Zimbabwe, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, MK Airlines, South African Airways and Zambia Airways.

Lacking many of the facilities associated with international airports, Lilongwe Kamuzu International doesn't even have a tannoy system, staff just shout out when planes are ready to board! The airport has a cafe and some shops, including a duty free and is generally well though of by travellers who use it. There are no recent figures for passengers numbers, however in 2004 just 196,140 used the airport yearly.
